It is conveniently close to I-95, Fort Lauderdale Airport, downtown Fort Lauderdale and our famous beach. The Shady Banks community is made up of a mixture of young families, adults and retirees. My family moved to this charming little neighborhood called Shady Banks in1975. My husband worked for Eastern Airlines and he wanted to be close to the airport. There were I believe twelve children on our block alone. Some of them are raising their children in the homes that they grew-up in. Now young famlies are moving in and starting to have babies. I am blessed with wonderful neighbors both old and new. So many changes! But I love it!
